Hi Everyone! It is your blog AO Avery coming to tell you some new and exciting news. As of this semester not only am I writing for our very own Texas KD blog but I now have been given the opportunity to write for the blog Texas Tasty. The blog started as a fun project at UT but has turned into a passion and way of life for these foodies, and now I get to be a part of it.
So far working at Texas Tasty I have written two posts and one has been officially posted! Last month I got to go on a restaurant visit where I get a credit to eat whatever I wanted. I ate so much delicious food and now I get to write about my experience and my thoughts on the food.
Being an intern at Texas Tasty has given me quite a bit of insight into what it would be like to write for a living. I get to work at my own pace and write when the feeling strikes. Although I do have deadlines I can write my posts in the early hours of the morning which is when I oddly feel the most productive. Being an intern has also taught me a lot about communication skills because it is a completely remote job and I have to constantly keep the internship director in the loop on how my stories are coming along and when I have busier weeks at school.
As an intern for Texas Tasty, I get to hone in on my writing skills while getting to try some new and of course tasty foods. However, writing for Texas Tasty doesn’t mean I will be taking a break from posting on the KD blog. With this internship, I will get to strengthen my writing abilities to bring the ladies of KD even better posts highlighting the wonderful things that we do in this chapter.
